Wedding invitation etiquette and wording:
In this modern day, wedding etiquette should be used as a helpful guideline when making personal preparations for your special day.  The most important items, which should always be included and linearly presented, is the reqiured information your guests need to prepare and enjoy this wonderful celebration with you.  There are many guidelines about wedding invitation etiquette and wording available and necessary for your research- we have included websites of those we find particularly helpful below.

Wedding invitation etiquette:
  1. How to order your wedding invitations:  Research, research, research...Start looking into wedding invitations and keeping a folder in regards to the look and style that impresses you.  Create your guest list so that you have an approximate idea about how many invitations you need to send out.  Allow your budget to focus your efforts, not be a burden.  When browsing sites and stores- try to figure total cost per person  with each seperate invitation.  This allows you to fall in love with the invitation style and ideal you can afford.
  2. Reception cards, RSVP, directions or additional details: We believe thant no seperate reception card is actually needed! Simply appropriate wording on the invitation itself. And how about the RSVP's where only 50% on average is returned to you, (both are very money wasteful and paper wasteful) -we recommend only using RSVP's if a plated dinner selection is required from each individual party. - but this paper product can be eliminated by utilizing a website or phone number for rsvp's and allows a list to easily be printed and used by you!  (see the websites www.weddingwindow.com and www.myrsvplive.com) Less is best for you and for your ecologic footprint.  Please see our Commitment to ease, efficiency, elegance and the environment, our Invitation trends page, as well as our recommended wording options below.
  3. Always order a proof:  This is never a hesitation for any reputable invitation seller.  We email you a proof and work with you to allow the statment and sentiment of the day to be precise and perfect.
  4. When to order your wedding invitations:  You should allow yourself plenty of time for addressing and mailing out the invitations in a non rushed manner.  Ordering 4 months prior to the wedding, therefore allowing yourself a total of 2 months for addressing and mailing.
  5. When to mail your wedding invitations: Wedding Invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks in advance.  Save the date emails (see our matching Save the Date emails options with each invitation) should be sent to out of town guests for a polite heads up for travel preparations.
  6. How to mail your invitations: Never assume postage.  Have them weigh it and tell you the cost per invitation.  Then ask about stamps which may support your theme- hearts etc... We do not offer inner/outer envelope options (once again reiterating our Commitment to ease, efficiency, elegance and the environment)  but offer nice square flapped envelopes that we can easily have the return address printed on it or we offer a very affordable custom stamp that can be made for you to stamp the return address.
  7. Thank you notes- when to mail:  Thank you notes should be mailed out by 3 months after the wedding day celebration.
